Chanhassen, MN—January 14, 2014—Exlar Corporation, a Curtiss-Wright company, announces the expansion of its Tritex II integrated rotary actuator family with a new 75 mm frame size. Offering torques to 60 lbf-in peak and 30 lbf-in continuous, the AC powered 75 mm rotary actuator with its integrated 1.5 kW servo amplifier delivers both power and speed in a small package. DC Powered Tritex II actuators with an integrated 750W servo amplifier are also available.
Exlar’s Tritex II Series Integrated Actuators are offered with either an AC or DC powered servo drive, digital position controller, and rotary actuator. All elements are assembled into a single, compact waterproof housing. Tritex actuators with their built-in mechanical converters eliminate the need for traditional ball screw or gear reducer mechanisms providing a complete system solution. Incorporating all the required position control and power electronics into the actuator also eliminates the external servo amplifier and the cables associated with a typical servo system.
Multiple feedback types, including absolute feedback, allow the user to select the system best-suited for the application. Digital and analog I/O plus popular communication networks such as Modbus TCP, Ethernet/IP, PROFINET IO and CANopen allow the Tritex II to become an integral part of your control architecture or machine control processes.
Tritex II rotary actuators are available in standard IEC metric dimensions. Direct drive units as well as units with integral planetary gearing provide compact powerful solutions for most rotary applications. Custom mounting and options are available to meet all of your installation requirements.
